I met Sakinah on thursday. She is one of my OCIP pals during my trip to Ban Pa Tek in the year 2004. Time passes so quickly, 3 years has passed since then. People have changed, came and gone. But through this length of time, I know someone still remains for me and it's really heartwarming to know that.

3 years ago, I met this guy by the name of Wud during my trip to Thailand. He was the one that stood out from the rest of the Thai guys who spoke English. Somehow or other, we became close with each other during the short span of a few days together. Though it was never spoken, we both knew that that was some kind of a bond between us and the times we spent together were memorable. Communication was a big barrier as I couldn't speak Thai. He was the one who could speak English, no matter how limited it was. Parting was hard. I missed him and the village so much I couldn't stop crying the day before. Only people who have been with me on this trip would have seen me in my deepest helplessness then.

Anyways, years passed and only till this day whereby I met Sakinah did i realised he had asked her to pass me a gift during her visit to their village a year back ( I think). The gift was really sweet. I can really see the hardwork and effort gone into making the gift. But what really touched me was the letter that came with it. Seeing the written word (good luck) itself brings back lots of memories as I remember he didn't know how to say the word in English then, much less know how to write it. He picked it up from one of our translators. It's funny how some people remember the little little things and make them become significant things. Was thinking of writing back to him, so at least he knows I'm doing well back here but I can't really make out the address. Their address just looks so weird, like it's the address to a cow farm or something.

Anyways, this letter totally made my day :)
