Life's journey.
Life is not gentle - far from it. From time to time, it will hand you disappointment, grief, loss, a formidable difficulty, often when least expected. But never forget you can surmount the worst it brings, keep on going, and make your way up again. You will find that you are stronger and maybe better off for having had some bad experience. No matter what has happened to a person, that individual still has within vast undamaged areas. Nature always tries to repair, so don't be discouraged when you suffer a blow - Norman Vincent Peale

Outing to East Coast Park

A crappy day early in the morning turned out to be a blessing in diguise instead thanks to a nice angel who volunteered to accompany me out to East Coast Park after listening to me vent my frustrations. Thanks for that. You are great friend indeed, in your willingness to help a friend in need. After 2 crappy days in a row, I just wanted to go out and let my hair down. Sometimes it good just to let go and spend the day out and have fun. You feel better after that instead of holding on to bad feelings.

So we cabbed down from my place and arrived at east coast park about 9 plus. He had to get his change of clothes from a nearby convenience store as he was still in his work clothes and I couldn't really expect him to cycle in them, can I? Yup, so after that he changed in into his newly bought beach clothes (below), we went to a nearby bicycle shop to rent our bikes. They had a (rent 1 hr, get 1 hr free) promotion, which I supposed only apply on a weekday, considering how little people there were around.

Yup so I enjoyed myself very much cycling around the park on a relaxing monday morning, enjoying the cool morning breeze blowing in my face. Initially we only planned to cycle for 2 hrs, but we soon got lost as we wasn't aware that there was a park-connector in East Coast that leads to Changi and we rode all the way to Changi and had to turn back. Finally after an hr or so, around 2 something (past our rental time), we arrived back at the rental shop, and returned our bikes. Sadly, my beloved beach slippers gave way along the way and I had to get a pair of kiddy purple slippers which is one size too small (but oh well at least I have something to wear) from a nearby shop. It was only then that I realised that I was actually quite sun-burned. Both my hands are red, and they are still are as I am writing this post. But it was a well-worthed trip. I had so much fun cycling, my thighs are still aching from the 2 -3 hrs of cycling.

Washed up at MacDonalds and decided to eat there as well since we were too lazy to move after that. My second meal at MacDonalds for the day (had Mac breakfast with my bro earlier that morning near my place). I was thinking if I had to eat Mac once more for the day, I would rather have someone kill me. Haha anyways he doesn't know that I never do finishes my food, so he had his mega prosperity burger meal upsized. And after that he has to forced himself to finish 2 packets of fries (I only took a few fries) after his mega beef prosperity burger while I happily go order an ice cream cone to savour.. Wahahaha, he was so bloated after that.

After lunch, we decided to go bowling at Marine Bowl since it was just beside. It was so freezing cold in there, like a god damn freezer. I remember the last time I was there, it was equally as cold. Don't they ever turn up the temperature that and help conserve the environment? Anyways, we played 2 games until when the thigh pain starts to kick in, and we find it harder to bend our knees without feeling some obvious pain and straining.

After that, we went to shoot an hour of pool, though I'm already hungry before we started playing. Bowling at such a cold temperature had burned away all that I ate but he was still full because of the large amount of fries he consumed.. haha ;) So yup, we completed like only 3 games because I sux so bad because I was hungry and couldn't cencentrate. Only then did we made our way to a turkish restaurant to have tea break.

We had chicken pide(Turkisk pizza)!

which I thought was below average because I didn't like the capsicum, onion and some weird vegetables in the pide and there were too little meat in it. Only the bread was slightly better. Definitely not worth it for 11 bucks.

Generally, it was a fun-filled day! Although the number of activites done in this day didn't beat the day before or the nights out with my Shanghai colleagues; in terms of enjoyable moments, it is definitely better because I did what I wanted to and I enjoyed myself tremendously :)
